Valentine’s Date Ideas

As the resident single of The Cake Eating Company I’ve taken it upon myself to collate some cute date ideas that you can take me on for the upcoming Valentine’s holiday. You’re welcome. I’ve based them around our Valentine’s Day menu so that this list can also double as me doing my job!
1. Meringue Tarts
These tarts are filled with a strawberry curd topped with a torched Italian meringue and fresh berries on a crisp vanilla bean pastry shell. They come in a set of two so that’s one to share and one to save for yourself for later (or one each works well too).
These cuties travel well, so why not take them on a romantic picnic. Christchurch has some beautiful spots to stop for a picnic but I think these tarts would look gorgeous by the ocean as the sun sets. Don’t you?
2. Heart Mousse
This little stunner is a chocolate and hazelnut mousse encasing a raspberry jelly. Topped with some fresh florals and meringues.
Hear me out, you go out to a romantic restaurant and have a delicious dinner. You head home for a nightcap and this decadent mousse heart, ending the night right with the some sugar.

Approximately 1.1kg of pure caramel ganache. This is for somebody with a sweet tooth and a love for caramel.
This bad boy will last for approximately 3 weeks chilled so it is the gift that keeps on giving. Perfect ending to a romantic walk, get your steps in and earn the perfection that is the caramel ganache heart.
5. 5” Single Layer Cake
A single layer cake in your choice of flavour with a fresh flower and cookie message.
This cake serves 2-4 so is the perfect option to end your Valentine’s Day if spent with your family or friends.
